The Derinya Basketball Club community once again showed what can be achieved when everyone comes together, and we are incredibly proud to share that our recent Bunnings BBQ fundraiser raised an amazing $2,409.10 for the club.
From the early morning setup through to the final pack down, the day was filled with teamwork, generosity, and community spirit. We are so grateful to every volunteer, family member, player, and supporter who gave up their time to help make the day such a success.
The funds raised will go directly back into the club to support our players and teams, including the purchase of new coaching kits and equipment. These kits contain essential resources for our coaches such as basketballs, coach bags, whistles, first aid supplies, ice packs, and other items that help support training sessions and game days throughout the season.
Having quality coaching equipment available across our teams helps create a better experience for both our coaches and players and ultimately strengthens our basketball program as it continues to grow.
We would also like to sincerely thank the businesses and community members who supported the fundraiser through donations and supplies. A special thank you to Woolworths and Colonia Meats in Somerville for helping provide food for the BBQ, along with those who generously donated sauces, napkins and additional supplies throughout the day.
